That's just it, though....the scalpers make it so that you CAN buy a new console, you just have to pay more for it, but at least the convenience is there. Otherwise, the stores would be sold out and without scalpers you wouldn't be ale to get one anywhere.

It's a myth that scalpers *cause* the shortages...they don't. Scalpers *respond* to shortages. If scalpers could cause a shortage, then they'd be doing it with almost everything that ever gets released.

Paypal Ill give you that.
S&H is not that expensive. UPS got flat rate boxes.
Standing in line and money upfront? Not that big of a deal not to mention Credit Cards.
Finally you can call head and ask if they have in stovk ask them to hold it for you to go pick it up.

I've never had to buy a console from a scalper. I only needed to have a little patience to wait for the right opportunity to snag one off the shelf. If everyone else had the same patience, no one would ever have to buy their console from TC and his ilk.

The reasons those consoles sell for that particular MSRP? Because the company knows that the tech in those machines isn't worth anymore, will be outdated soon if it isn't already by launch, and is just a platform to sell their software on.

Scalpers literally rely on the fact that morons exist and will pay any price to have the latest and greatest toy for either themselves or their kids. Because apparently if you dont get it the moment it comes out, you are a loser and will completely miss out on the first 18 months of bug fixes, server issues, and hardware failures that were somehow capable of making past quality inspectors and playtesters.

If you're an early adopter that HAS to have that toy at all costs, and will pay 4x or more the value of it, then I have no fucking sympathy for your dumb ass.

It is much higher than that. I made a 50% profit scalping my Switch, and I will make AT LEAST 200% on the 7 SNES classics I have preordered.

Every time you see a scalper trying to sell, send them a message and string them along as far as you can, then back out at the last minute. Make scalping miserable for them and they'll stop doing it.
