Most liken me to PO, actually. Zeus is relatively new, and is a much more aggressive devil's advocate than me (that, or he just somehow has contrary opinions on everything, but I think devil's advocate is more likely).

I think it's really just that other than icoyar every political topic here slants pretty hard left. Easy to see people as contrarian when they happen to frequent a board where most of the political topics are "waaah Trump!"

Did people freak the fuck out when their children were taught that people of other colors were the same as them?

That's a far cry from being told "some boys have girl brains." Even from a scientific standpoint that's complete bullshit. At the least it's a very terrible way of explaining something a lot more complex than that. And it doesn't really have any place being explained like that to 5 year olds that barely understand that boys and girls have different anatomy

There's a region of the hypothalamus called the sexually dimorphic nucleus which - as the name suggests - differs in size between males and females. In homosexual males, however, the size tends to be closer to that of the female one than the male one.

The significance of that isn't known yet, and I don't believe it's been found to be true for trans people (at least, I haven't heard of it), but it is an example of a male displaying neurological similarity to a female, which could easily be distilled to "some boys have girl brains" if you're talking to an audience that's likely to struggle with 10-syllable terms.

It's somewhat inaccurate when compared to the usual way of looking at and treating gender dysphoria, which is that the body doesn't match the mind, and would be better distilled to "some girls have boy bodies," but that's a much trickier concept to grasp. Using "girl brain" in place of "a feminine mind that would be more comfortable in a female body" is pretty reasonable.

Pretty sure most five-year-olds understand that much. Maybe not the explicit details, but they can see the obvious differences between their parents, plus the obvious sitting/standing to pee thing.

Dude, adjl, I don't care what you say... 5 year olds have no place trying to understand this stuff. A "feminine mind" is mostly a social construct. That's much of the problem with generalizing girl brain vs guy brain. I'm not denying that there are biological differences in the male and female brain but that is not what they're addressing here. At least not in the analytical sense that it requires. This is some agenda driven simplified way of trying to indoctrinate children to think a certain way.

Believe it or not, I think a lot of children don't watch their parents pee nor take in exactly why that's the case.

This is just a classic case of trying to teach something to children that we don't even fully understand yet due to political correctness. As a man of science, I don't support it. I only support acceptance

I dont see why School should waste time with such a niche thing. Its like why are you bothering good curriculum time with this? Theres amillion other little niche things they could be learning about but we dont see attention to those do we? The kids are just learning to count to ten and their ABCs, why do they need to be taught about transgenders?

Also Anyone discussing the different issue of transitioning kids, I think thats a huge nono. We dont let kids drink, drive, get tattoos or have sex, why should they have the maturity and foresight to decide to permanetly alter their bodies and become infertile?
