It's so lame how sitcoms eventually start to focus more and more on relationships as they get more seasons. Why does this usually happen? Is it just an easy source of drama for the writers to fall back on once they run out of ideas?

Because it's what most of the audience wants. If that wasn't the case, they wouldn't keep getting away with it. Most of us online complain about but clearly we're in the minority.

I'm not really complaining. I've just been binge watching a lot of different sitcoms recently and I noticed that this is something that almost always ends up happening. I was curious about the reason behind it

I'd like a sitcom with all guys just doing guy things. They can still have girlfriends/wives and stuff but it wouldn't be a big part of the show.
