Thinking of just continuing with taking language courses as the years roll by. Korean could be fun. Anyone have insight or experience with going from Japanese to Korean?

The grammar will be pretty similar in the early stages, later on is a different story. It's super easy to learn how to read Hangul although correct pronunciation will definitely be tricky. There's virtually no need to learn hanja in Korean although it definitely helps so you can know the roots of words and things like that.

Something to note is that hanja in Korean sticks strictly with traditional characters while Japanese kanji use a combination of traditional, simplified, and their own Japanese home-made kanji.

There's also some vocabulary both languages share because of Japan's colonial rule of Korea. Some examples are:
(English) = (Japanese) / (Korean)
Promise = Yakusoku / Yagsog
Earthquake = Jishin / Jijin
Newspaper = Shinbun / Shinmun
Time = Jikan / Shigan
I feel filthy using romanization but that's all I can do in GameFAQs.

I would definitely wait until you acquire an intermediate or even advanced level of Japanese before tackling Korean, both languages will require a lot of time before you can even begin to feel comfortable reading or watching media without subtitles or translations.
