The prepping is required so that you can relax it and stretch gradually without pain. It's very...invasive to have a 16 oz soda inside there. So the mechanics are basically tongue for 5 minutes. Finger for another 5-10. Two fingers for another 5-10. 3 fingers. Then a little bit of soda, no movement. Then the entire soda bottle, no movement. Then a tiny bit of movement. It takes a long time to get up to speed, so to speak. And if you rush it and someone isn't prepared it's going to hurt them so much that they won't want to transport another 16 oz soda for a few days.
