I would like to see this alternate universe TC lives in where Lord Of The Rings was never a huge phenomenon. it actually wasn't until the Peter Jackson movies. most people didn't read the books. or watch the obscure animated movies from like the 80's I think. If you grew up in the 80s you would see that dungeons and dragons and magic and elves and orcs and goblins were a huge thing. I did. We liked Mad Max and Sci fi cyber punk with hackers as well. Conan, Krull, Legend, and so many other fantasy movies were huge things to us as kids. DnD was so big, national news warned parents about the evil black magic one must conjure to play the game. Look at Heavy Metal bands and artwork from the 80s. Led Zeppelin wrote songs about LOTR.
