Vice City Stories was the pinnicle of 3D Era GTA.

In fact, you can even see in the writing that it was the point where Dan Houser started getting too up his own ass about the writing in GTA. He was taking it more serious, but not to the absurd levels it got with GTA IV.

The only thing that I hold against VCS is that they couldn't expand upon the Vice City map much and that the PS2 versions graphics were kind of muddy in the porting process.

But gameplay wise, it was like the best bits of San Andreas mixed with the best bits of Vice City.

I mean, if you had a PSP I'd say get the PSP version because I don't recall the extras in the PS2 version being worth it, but it's not like the PS2 version is bad. It's just the graphics are muddy cause it's a PSP port.
