Fude Pen ~Ballpoint Pen~ - Houkage Tea Time

Idgaf I love K-ON. The second season is the better season. There, I said it.

Liftoff by Goldfinger

I hadn't listened to a Goldfinger album since Hang-ups (and that Ocean Size single) so I didn't know what to expect but I really liked The Knife. I thought it was a pretty stellar album with really catchy songs and good lyrics.

Hey Jealousy by The Gin Blossoms

This is just pure nostalgia. It's one of those 'car' songs that reminds me of driving around with my family in the summer as a kid. Slowly drift in and out of sleep as I watch the summer-sky clouds omfg it's such a nice memory.

Broken Mirrors by Rise Against

Why is this on here?

I used to be hardcore into Rise Against, but growing up made me kind of move away from them. They still have a handful of songs I really love, though. This is Letting Go, Paper Wings, Audience of One and Like the Angel are all aces. Their lyrics are all kinda...I dunno...I don't wanna use the word pretentious but...I just don't like lyrics that sing about current events (kek), it ruins the evergreen nature of the song.

Thank You by Stereopony

Steropony did this ending for Bleach:

An all-girl rock band that sadly no longer is together. I dig their stuff, though.

Pilgrims on a Long Journey off the Child of Light Soundtrack.

I love this soundtrack. It's so goddamn atmospheric. Whenever I bring it up people always recommend I listen to other stuff by the composer Coeur de Pirate but I don't care much for her(?) work outside of this soundtrack. It has too many lyrics and isn't nearly as atmospheric. It's not bad, but nowhere near as pretty as Child of Light.

You by Bad Religion.

This, honestly, is probably my favorite song of all time.

The nostalgia of it is a part, sure, but the loopy sound of it the great lyrics and delivery, the overall sound idfk I love it so much. The last time I went to see Bad Religion (before the dismantling of the band) they played this and I actually cried it was so fucking awesome.

When I was first getting into Bad Religion (thanks Tony Hawk) I accidentally bought All Ages because I confused You Are (the Government) with this song. I'm so glad I did though because that best-of album spurred a love for the band and their music that I doubt will ever even fade a little.

Mune no Akashi (Yakusoku) off the Kurenai soundtrack.

Kurenai was an anime about an orphan teen with an arm blade who became the bodyguard to an escaped daughter of a rich family. There's a few awful fight scenes, some implied incest and a lot of actually really sweet moments between girl and guy. I liked the show but who know how it held up. The soundtrack though was really good. A lot of soft piano that really created a wonderful mood and I love listening to it while walking around at night.

Chronophobia (Acoustic) by Bad Religion

This is the only Acoustic song from the New Maps of Hell Deluxe edition that hasn't gotten an electric version. It's too bad, as I'd really like to hear it. Still a great song anyway.

Already Won by Yellowcard

This is a cover of a No Use for a Name song off the Tony Sly tribute album. I wasn't into No Use for a Name but bought the tribute album cuz Bad Religion did a song on it. I loved the whole thing. Maybe I'm still not into No Use for a Name but goddamn if these covers aren't all amazing.

Hopeless Housewife by Bad Religion

I know a lot of people don't like New America, but I very much love it.

Don't be so sure
You can chuck it all away
You've got to proceed
No matter how bad you want to stay
It's a natural cause
And a comfort zone
There in your head
And the world turns away
As you tap the snooze button in bed
But nobody can hear a word you said
Your history was never read
Instead you're mute
And fawn just waiting to die
Like some kind of hopeless housewife
But you can change while you're alive
And let 'em all know
At least you tried to kill the demons inside

This passage meant the world to me when I was 16. It really helped me get through some shit back then. The whole world isn't going to be for you, but that doesn't matter because YOU can proceed and if nothing else, show them that you did so. It really resonated. BTW Idgaf I think New America is great. Call me a fanboy whatever.

Dissidia Ending Medley from the Dissidia (first one) Soundtrack.

This is just an excellent arrangement of all the Final Fantasy themes from I to XII. It's just so gosh damned pretty! I prefer this arrangement over that of 012, but both are excellent.

Mai off the .Hack//Liminality soundtrack

The Liminality soundtrack is probably the best thing to come of the whole .Hack franchise (with SIGN's soundtrack being second place). I really really love this album. I think it was the first thing I ever imported...nope, actually it was the second. The Final Fantasy VII soundtrack was the first. Still, Liminality's soundtrack is just amazing.

Captive Audiences by Nothington

Nothington is a band I've only recently gotten into ('recent' being four years ago now). I really like 'em. They have that certain sound that I dunno how the fart to describe. There's also two different vocalists which I find to be a lot of fun.

Turn Your Back On Me by Bad Religion

Dissent of Man is, to me, the last perfect Bad Religion album. It's gold all the way through (though I honestly think that of all previous albums, too). True North has a lot of misses that even me, a die-hard Bad Religion fan, often skips and admit they make the album weaker. Dharma and the Bomb is easily Bad Religion's worst song. Easily. This song, though. Phew, I love it. The whole Dissent album is about growing up and this one song talks about looking back at your life and wondering if your decisions were at all justified.

If I could I would stand outside myself
And pretend that I was looking back at somebody else
If I could do it again
Would I merely defend it all to the end?
Or do the ends justify themselves?

I love it.

Konakusa no Hana off the Asatte no Houkou Soundtrack

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GghaWX4U574

This whole soundtrack is pure summer to me. I fucking love it. Even in the dead of winter I lay in my bed, put this on and close my eyes to just fall into the heat of summer. Just wonderful.

Another Suitcase in Another Hall by Madonna off the Evita Movie Soundtrack

I listened to the Evita soundtrack a lot in high school (1998-2002). All my friends were into Tool and Korn and System of a Down and there I was listening to Evita. Sheesh. Still like it though, but not as much. I only have a few select songs on my player.
