I had gotten pretty hyped for it, and it met most of my expectations!

The kid actors, so fucking good. Sofia Lillis is gonna go far if she keeps this kinda acting going. Loved her. Also loved the guy playing Eddie!

I'm never scared of scary movies, but one scene, the projector scene fucked me up. Holy shit. Otherwise I wasn't scared like that, just creeped out and tense.

I loved the bonding scenes and them being friends, felt so good and captured it well from the novels.

Pennywise, was just so good, the parts when Bill played him, suberb creepy, and the character was made so inhuman which was just so good. Most of the transformations were great as well.

It had jump scares yes, but almost all of them were telegraphed and didn't come as a surprise, and no fake jumpscares which is a huge plus.

I liked their portayal of the deadlights, hope we get to explore that more in the sequel.

Music was amazing and it felt like it captured the essence of the story.

Now for the bad:
What happened to Mike? He became lost, was barely there and had no story pretty much, they even removed his part of telling the history of Derry.

Horror movie cliches, while it barely had any there was one major cringy one, when Ben had his encounter, why the hell would he go after the eggs like that just as he read about the egghunt. I was rolling my eyes on that scene.
And Bill just running off like that in the end, dumb horror movie cliche.

In the final battle while I really liked it, I wish they had cleared it up a bit more when Bill shot Pennywise without ammo that he just had to believe there was ammo, like in the book where they believe it's battery acid in the inhaler, as a book reader (and seen miniseries) I still got it, but it felt a bit off.

I would have wanted a bit more of Pennywise talking but still I'm split about that. Since too much talk and exposition about him would make him human, It's not human so It just says what It needs.

Overall, loved it so much. It captures King and the novel SO much better than the miniseries ever did. It scared me once when I didn't expect it too.
And all the 80's references and the kids being kids was so fun.

9/10

Richie was the best of the kids.

That actor is also amazing, I forgot he was the kid from Stranger Things pretty much the instant he opened his mouth.

But I still loved Eddie so much, I loved his rants about things he was scared of, especially the AIDS thing.

Oh yeah! I forgot one thing.

Henry was portrayed well, but the end for this character was strange. I mean he has to return for the sequel, I wish we had gotten a deadlight scene with him....
