It feels like one of those genres that has been really over-saturated lately, and I have been feeling the fatigue.

Like, even when a super hero movie comes out that gets high praise, I can't be bothered to care to watch it.

Yes, because I find them to be horrible movies.

I felt like there is no way I could be alone of this one at this point. It reminds me of the way some video game genres and series get when you see developers focusing way too much on them. You just get really fatigued after a while, where even if it gets high praise it just feels too "been there done that" for you to care anymore.

Lately? For a while. And there's so many television shows and other media tie ins. It felt oversaturated before Guardians of the Galaxy even came out.

I feel weird saying that because my teen self could not have enough of them and the quality now is much higher.

Yeah, I got tired of them a few years ago. Guardians of the Galaxy, DCAU stuff, and Deadpool is all I have any interest in at this point.

While I'm not sure if you're trolling --- because you troll non-fucking-stop --- I've been burned out on them for a few years now, mostly because of the overall direction and writing. Joss Whedon's Avengers was the final straw which killed my interest for a while. Oh, plus all the fucking reboots.

Granted, I did wind up watching two of the more recent X-Men movies -- DoFP and Apoc -- which were surprisingly good. After the first three films and seeing the terrible trailers for the quasi-reboot, I had kinda written off the franchise.

Which is the difference between starving and being stuffed, tbh. We've gone from a scarcity environment with maybe a film a year to a mega-surplus one where it seems like 5 or 6 come out some years.
