Pretty much this. Kind of scary, actually. To think, people for the most part of history didn't have any screens at all. Between work and entertainment, it's quite easy to rack up ~ 10 hours of screen time easily, per day.

Yeah, it sucks. I have two large monitors at work, a phone when i am pooping, a tv screen at home, Switch screen to look at whilst playing games.

Besides sleep, shower, walking dog, and commute, maybe 11 hours a day i don't look at a screen.

Hm... *looks at schedule*

I'm awake for 16 hours. I work on a computer, so that's 8 hours on a screen right there. Work out for one hour, to-do list for up to two more hours, dinner and get ready for bed adds one more hour. That's leaves four hours of chill time. Usually watch tv or movies or youtube or browse the web in that period.

So twelve hours per day I'm looking at a screen. And that's assuming I'm sticking to my daily routine. Also not counting the instances I'd be checking my phone when I have a minute to myself.

Why should we? If someone is bring productive with their time looking at their phone or computer, I don't see that as a negative.
Note that I'm putting things like reading as activities to do when looking at a screen

Considering I work at a computer for my job and the hobbies I take part also involve sitting at my computer at home.

Pretty much when I'm asleep or the rare times I get to hang out with some friends.

When I was a kid we would lay in the grass and look at clouds, stars, or the moon. I haven't actually gazed at the stars in years. Is that bad? I'm way less bored now, so there's that.

I feel like the inclination is to think it's disturbing but maybe that's incorrect. This has been the natural progression of human evolution, so we're just at the stage where we look at screens a lot.

Working days I only stare at a screen about 2-3 hours on my only day off about 5 hours mostly my gaming time. I work physical labor I rather listen to the radio, when I'm home I play with my kid, eat and shower not much time for screens not that I would use it for that. I say about 18 hours total in a week. That's not bad is it?

No. Not at all. And staring on screen alot isnt that bad too. It is just misleading stigma that people just invent on their own because it is a new thing relatively.
Like those "wahwah back in my day wahwah"
In tje future we will probably get to the point where the screems are implanted in our eyeballs or just directly beamed into our brains
