the wheel 09/12/17 2:50:23 AM #2:	Many times. First as a kid/young adult on swim team. It was all we had at the club. Second was in college( early 90's). Our dorm floor had one communal shower for 40-50 residents. I might have considered the second one awkward, if not for the swim team. By that time I've been nude in front of enough kids my own age to not give a fuck. However you could always spot the ones weirded out by it. They would go shower at 2-3 in the morning to have privacy. Honestly it's no big deal. You go in, wash yourself, and get out. No one was carrying on conversations or "checking one another out". philsov 09/12/17 1:08:50 PM #8:	In high school, on the cross country team, the shower room was a single rectangle with a total of 8 shower heads (3 on either side wall, 2 on the wall adjacent to the opening). Because it was a bunch of regulars all the time there were plenty of conversations and no one gave a fuck. Most of the guys showered with their backs to the wall so everyone could see everyone else's junk, but it also meant we could talk to each other. It was always the awkward freshmen that faced the wall... thelovefist posted... Sometimes people on the team would pee on each other. My personal favorite was to stroke the shampoo bottle like it was a penis and then spray shampoo all over the lower classmen. Usually while verbally citing one of their mother's names. "Oh, Mrs. Henderson...." ~ Post high school has been occasional opportunities like dorms or summer camps or something. Will still carry on conversations if I'm showering with someone I already know. Probably squicks the majority of people who are stonefaced and staring at the wall with metaphorical horse blinders. I think the main issue is that most guys don't want to be perceived as gay. It's urinal etiquette all over again. Guy A (who's straight) isn't going to be looking at Guy B's (who's also straight) junk, nor B for A for the same reason. But, one of the reasons why someone would park themselves immediately next to the other is to catch a glance.
