Now, I run on a pretty regular basis. 4-5km roughly 4 times a week. But 5km is nowhere near 21.1km. I had planned to do the half marathon, but it looked like work would have me traveling during the event, so I scrapped the idea and didn't train for it. About 2 weeks before the marathon, I got word that the trip had been postponed... So I signed up for the half marathon and basically ran it cold turkey.

I fucked up the pacing. I fucked up the pacing hard. I ran the first 11km at an even slightly faster pace than I usually run, finishing it in about 55min. Pretty damn good, on pace for under 2 hours. But I was exhausted already by that point... Not so good. I struggled up until the 17km mark, where my legs completely cramped up. Like, it hurt to exist, nevermind try to run on them... So I was basically forced to walk the last 4km, which annihilated my time.

I finished it in 2:25, not even close to the 2 hour mark I wanted.

Better luck next year I guess. Also, I should probably properly train for it.
