They need to add a lot more pokemon this time than in Sun and Moon because it was a little disappointing to see such a small roster this time around. I think they'll do a nice job with the amount of Pokémon this time around, but the original S/M games have always needed to be expanded upon and Nintendo better not screw it up this time around.

Needs more Alolan version of mons past 1st gen and also make them good. More mons that have a usable speed stat would be great too. There were sooo many things that could have been good but were awful due to their terrible speed or terrible ability (Vikavolt, Golisopod, Wishiwashi, Incineroar, Crabominable, Araquanid, etc).

Also I hope the move tutor makes some mons that SHOULD have been good actually good, like Silvaly and Komo-o.

TC we most likely aren't getting new Pokemon other then new Alolan Forms.

I just hope the new Alolan forms aren't Kanto-exclusive this time. I guess I understand why they did it, because Alola is near Kanto, but I would really like to see some other Pokemon get Alolan Form boosts.

A lot of those Pokemon are not "terrible".

Araquanid is great, Vikavolt is definitely serviceable, and Incineroar will be good once his Hidden Ability is released.

Wishiwashi sucks though, which is a shame because it was one of my favorite Pokemon design-wise. Crabominable and Golisopod are eh.

I also hope they don't just make Lycanroc-Dusk the only good Lycanroc, because the other 2 do suck and need something to make them better, maybe a custom Z-Move or something idk

The main issue with Battle Royal is that it generates a lot of lag due to all the animations going on in Sun and Moon battles.

Lycanroc really just needs some better moves which since move tutors usually return in sequels will probably help. Day form has great offensive stats and the only rock priority move so it already has the potential to be good.

I think I'm kinda burned out on Pokemon. I caught all of the Alola Pokemon in Pokemon Moon and I haven't played it since. Not sure I care much about a new story in the same world.

i assumed the reason they haven't shown any new info is because either the amount of new content is small, or that by revealing anything like character art would indirectly reveal the game's core plot and its differences. like showing Mohn at all would imply that instead of him being abducted through the Ultra Wormhole, it was a pregnant Lusamine. showing Ryuki is probably the least spoileriffic thing since as a foreigner, the game's backstory logically shouldn't even reach as far as his home region.

The only real link to a old region in Sun/Moon was Unova, and that was only because Professor Burnett is married to Kukui, and that indirectly, Dream Energy was utilized in detecting spatial anolmalies. thinking that this game will be more grounded towards Fallers and the possibility that Nebby was never rescued, though that chances are it evolved in Ultra Space, could be the only way they can have a Ultra Spacian Cosmoem, maybe Nebby is higher levelled when you escape with it. i wouldn't think the game would be conscious with adding a harmful form of evolution, just to get a 2nd Necrozma or something

Like at least the aftergame of Sun/Moon, that you got a fresh Cosmog. mainly because without it, you wouldn't be able to get its or Cosmoem's pokedex entries. just imagine if they added yet another Cosmoem form? or maybe they'll just smooth it down and just have Cosmoem remain normal despite where it evolves, and that it has to evolve in a Ultra Reality?

I really liked Sun & Moon, but I don't know what else they can really do with Alola to make it interesting.

The low Pokemon count wasn't an issue for me because it made filling out the Pokedex a lot easier. I also loved that each island had its own Pokedex and that they generally went by order of appearance so you could tell if you missed something.

Yeah, I was using a comparison to previous generations. Black and White had more pokemon than Sun and Moon, so that's the point I wanted to make with this topic.

Araquanid and Vikavolt are pretty underwhelming due to their speed. If they both had something like base 70 they would be monsters. Lycanroc needs Superpower at the very least, which is a very commonly taught by the move tutor. Give Golisopod Water Bubble too, or at least something useful other than the garbage ability it has. Komo-o with Shell Smash makes more sense than Quiver Dance, and it would definitely make it an actual threat along with a niche to choose over the other psuedo-legendaries

They're not even good trick room mons though. They lack the resistances, bulk, priority or sheer power to fit that playstyle.

If it had Aqua Jet or some more bulk on the defensive side it would have been more of a trick room threat. But honestly instead of setting up trick room and then finding the opportunity to switch, having something like even just base 60 speed it would be more of an overall threat rather than just a niche mon.
