I've been thinking of getting another pet, but I want something unique, in a sense.

I was thinking of a racoon, but I don't think I will have the necessary space for it. I see YouTube videos with fennec foxs, sugar gliders, and ferrets. So I might chose from those three.

Anyone here have any unique pets, or know people who have them?

Be wary about these pets. Cats and dogs are popular for a reason: They're easy to domesticate. Rabbits, gerbils, turtles, fish, go for it.

You start going for the wilder things, you better be ready for the added responsibility.

Sorry, I guess I should have used another adjective...

Yea, I definitely have this in mind at all times. I had a chance to raise a wolf pup 5 years ago, but I felt it wouldn't have been fair, because I wasn't ready then. They definitely require ALOT to deal with.

Just to clarify, cats and dogs are popular because they are domesticated. You can't domesticate an individual animal. Domestication is a selective breeding process that takes generations. You can raise a non-domesticated animal to be generally friendly, but it won't be domesticated. It will still have wild instincts that no amount of training will offset.
