Several sources (including one guy on neoGAF who was the first to ever bring up the idea of an LA Noire port coming to Switch several months ago) have come together and stated that a Nintendo direct is imminent, specifically there being a high possibility of it being this Wednesday, 9/13.

Any wants or expectations? Hopefully they shadowdrop a few Switch eShop games like Stardew Valley.

I can't think of what other new first party or otherwise Nintendo-published titles they would announce. The rest of the year's already stacked in that regard with Super Mario Odyssey, Xenoblade 2, Pokken DX, and Fire Emblem Warriors.

But maybe they'll surprise me.

The timing is off. They rarely do that big of an announcement in a Direct that comes before the release of several games

So, Kirby, FE Warriors 3DS, Etrian Odyssey V, SMT Strange Journey, and Radiant Historia are the only 3DS titles off the top of my head that I see them talking about.

Pokemon USUM will likely not be covered, since they tend to leave Pokemon news to CoroCoro and TPCI.

I am more interested in what might be announced for 3DS really.

Switch already has Fire Emblem, Kirby, Pokémon, Metriod, Pokémon and quite a bit of other high profile stuff(and low profile stuff) for 2018 and beyond.

All I need for Switch is a teaser for Smash or Mario Maker 2.

3DS actually does have several good 2018 games but Switch is already fairly stacked.

Personally I hope for Advance wars, and a MH Double Cross localization and think we might get a new Zelda for 3DS.

So, Kirby, FE Warriors 3DS, Etrian Odyssey V, SMT Strange Journey, and Radiant Historia are the only 3DS titles off the top of my head that I see them talking about.

Pokemon USUM will likely not be covered, since they tend to leave Pokemon news to CoroCoro and TPCI.

There's definitely a lot more unannounced they can probably talk about (plus games like Sushi Striker), but by "only for 3DS" I was specifically referring to Kirby as it's a 3DS game and not a Switch game, and it fits the other user's criteria of being a new first party game.

english footage of Etrian Odyssey 5, some Odyssey footage....maybe yet more Fire Emblem Warriors footage, officially showing the History Mode as well as class changing since Famitsu leaked that.

then they mention a Pokemon direct next week, inevitably they reveal some new Alolan/Mega Evolutions on during the Kanto 2-parter. honestly, expecting Ash's Lycanroc to be holding astral energy that resonated with Brock/Misty's Mega Steelix/Gyarados's mega energy that just causes a few Pokemon to evolve into their Alolan forms, mainly to promote the Generation 2 VC games.


Want a non-Alolan Marill? trade one from G/S or from someone farmed for one using Island Scan in vanilla S/M.or Ash's Lycanroc has canon-defying powers, making all of Marill's line Alolan when caught/hatched in Ultra Sun/Moon?

Or the theory that the legendaries on the USUM box are actually both empowered forms (think Mega Rayquaza) that wears parts of Necrozma's discarded armor, whilst Necrozma itself has transformed into an energy-being.

I mean just look at that background. there's even eyes on that light beam.

I would love something like Zelda 2. That game was shit but the concepts can be made great with a remake/spiritual successor.

Speaking of which, did they even state the whole after-story thing in BOTW was about? we have the super dungeon. i assume they might have potential for more room for Amiibo. since they intentionally spaced Bokoblin right at the end. presumably all the Links and BOTW/Anniversery characters are placed earlier.

At least due to internal amiibo IDs. no idea where to find a currently-updated list though. but if i was Nintendo, i'd probably sneak in new amiibo compatibility within the fragments of the Season Pass update. might even be up for a Hyrule Warriors 2 if they keep the cast of characters around, maybe add some Capcom-origin characters, or maybe playable Nabooru/Twinrova, though i wouldn't be surprised if they just had the current champions, Beedle+Paya as newbies, maybe even Purah and Kass?


or would focusing on BOTW characters kinda spoil the roster, kinda like what happening to Fire Emblem Warriors?

nintendo direct on the 13th, 3PM PT, 50 minutes long. however JPs is 5 mins longer and states that no smartphone content will be revealed. Mario Odyssey content is confirmed, would not be surprised if they announce (definitely, besides character art) that Peach's tiara is posessed by a Cappy.


Predictions?

Yokai Watch Blasters (eShop), maybe tease Psychic Spectres a bit more.
Dragon Quest XI and Theatrhythm Dragon Quest (but avoid mentioning Heroes, because they want to push FE:W) the latter of which will be a Switch-port.
Splatoon 2 datamine There's a Grizz Blaster/Brella that's only usable in high level Salmon Run, only via a randomized weapon slot. there's also parameters for an OctBoy, maybe closer to playable Octolings?
ARMS content, new character, mode or stage?
Okami HD? (Ha.....)
Bayonetta 1/2 port, and/or midquel featuring Jeanne. possibly with more playable characters than just the unlockables from the Wii U port/sequel.
