Transunion monitoring is available from CreditSesame.com
Equifax (the folks who got hacked) is available from CreditKarma.com (they also do transunion)
Experian monitoring is available from Experian.com, with their free account (scroll down on the sign up page and theres a free account. free accounts have everything except for a score).

a lot of the websites will monitor all three at a fee. you can do that if you want, but this is a free option.

in my experience, they all work. i usually get bombarded with emails and alerts when i sign up for new cards.

also if you want to check your transunion report DAILY (credit karma refreshing once a week), i suggest WalletHub.com.

what i'd be more worried about is folks opening up Bank Accounts in your name. most times those are "soft pulls" to your credit and dont appear on a normal credit report. youll be able to see them if you get your report from annualcreditreport.com but those are once a year, per bureau.

Don't take this light either. It's like a 9/11 or Pearl Harbor of the banking and personal information world.

The best thing to do is freeze your credit with Equifax, Transunion, and Experian.

You all need to take this seriously. If you know nothing about Equifax, they are (probably will be a 'was' soon)one of the big three credit bureaus that hold your credit score. Thus you are in their system and if you ever plan to finance anything or get a credit card, you need to be proactive.

Like honestly this should be stickied. This kind of information leaking can haunt you for decades

And don't sign up for their free year of credit. It prevents from you getting in on a class action lawsuit.

Lmao you don't understand how building credit works. The more new cards you have, the lower your score will be.

But that's your gimmick I suppose.

average account age is a relatively small chunk of your credit, though. It will benefit him in the long term as long as all of those stay open.

Lmao, I already have a score in the 800's. I just opened one at 18. Then two more a few years later. So, I only have 3 credit cards and a lot better credit than you.

score doesnt not determine everything. you can have one account with a limit of 1500 and have a 750 score for good payment history, but be denied for a new card cuz not enough credit has been extended to you in the past. Chase regularly does this.

but when they're rocking 10 accounts, with a combined 75k limit, then chase is more inclined to offer you credit.

Also, if you go to Experian's site you can sign up for an initial fraud alert without signing for an account. They will forward this on to Equifax and TransUnion.
