I've seen them five times, mind you. They're usually a top tier live act.

The mix was absolutely awful (extremely heavy on bass and drums, no clarity elsewhere) and Homme's mic cut off at least once a song. I was literally as front row as you could get, centered, so I definitely heard it all.

Homme was sober as a nun and was drinking water. All he had to say to the crowd was thank you, great crowd, and in the middle of the set, "This band has been through so much. So much negativity. All because of you." And then all the band members looked sullen. There was no cheering. He abruptly cut into no one knows after scratching at his head nervously. No energy was revived in the entire set. A few times he stopped to smoke a cigarette and dropped chinese fortune cookie advice about life, love, and moving on from things. Makes me think he has massive personal problems popping up.

Forgot the lyrics to the intro of VoC, entirely cut the outro of I appear missing and completely flubbed leg of lamb so hard that he just stopped singing. He did unscheduled guitar solo jams on a few songs and entirely lost the band, going out of sync with each other like five times last night. That never happens.

No energy, no synergy, lots of little mistakes, must have been one hell of an off night. :(

My friend last month reported a similar thing in NY. I'm not trying to keep fans from buying their tickets, but don't go in expecting the Like Clockwork tour. Something is off. I've seen them live five times since the Era tour. This is their worst show I've been to.

Sadly. :( Like Clockwork was their best performances as a band cohesively and they also played the hell out of their older material. Now that the setlist is almost all of villains every night (which sucks, imho) it only goes as far back as Era but not even the best songs on it.

Doubt it. Matador is cutting down all fan videos like crazy with the exception of one or two. They've played about ten live acts this year and only one or two /songs/ from these acts are online.

I don't know about that. The Foo Fighters seem to still enjoy what they do. As well do the old bands like ACDC, GnR, Iron Maiden. etc.

Anthrax sounded like they were having fun and loved rocking both times I saw them. They still have 3 original members too iirc. Maybe 4. Singer did take some time off at ones tho.

I guess it just depends on the band. When Brian Johnson was in ACDC I remember seeing videos of them rehearsing and he looked like he was loving the hell out of it. I know that Metallica still plays like they love what they do.
