I can't listen to any rappers using more 3 syllables in a word, my brain can't keep up. Also if they're using barebones NY boom bap beats, I'm gonna zone out just because they always rap with the same flow for too long.I need that auto tune drug-induced crooning or hyped up energetic hooks with melodies. I used to listen to J. Cole, reasonable doubt era Jay Z and Biggie but now I can't go back to their albums without falling asleep. I think it's cause their old heads and are no longer representive or connectiive to the today's youth. Same goes with my anime, I rather watch an anime about teenagers with superpowers than shows with old protagonists like Batman or Superman.

Rappers that I listen to now are Kodak Black, Lil Uzi Vert, Lil wayne, Lil Yachty, Playboi Carti, Denzel Curry, Young Thug, Drake, Kendrick and Chief Keef.

Eh, as long as you keep it varied. I fuck with it to a degree since it has it's place. When you just want something to bump in the whip, it's really not that bad. Shits hype.

I tried "quitting" it by listening to other hip hop genres that are more refined like Lupe or Outkast but I always end up replaying the same soundcloud mumble rapper songs.

I used to hate on mumble rap but now its 90% of what I listen to.

Hey man, you like what you like. You don't have to justify it to anyone. You're definitely not the only one considering how successful those dudes become. As long as you take what they do and say worth a grain of salt and not imitate it like some of the youngins out there.

I still can only listen to 90's gangsta rap and early 2000's hip-hop personally.

Although lately I've been branching out into some more recent shit that isn't as well known, but no mumble rap.
