So TC has a fat wife, and TC is an asshole. That's the tldr version of this (probably not true) topic.

It's pretty unrealistic to expect your tale of your wife losing 100 pounds for you to be anywhere near the norm. It's a huge ask and when TC is saying his wife is depressed I doubt his line of thinking where he might not wanna stick around is helping. He can leave if he wants, but I'm pretty sure being supportive would help. He should exercise with her, cook healthy meals for two, etc, etc.

That's fair. My wife is truly incredible. She asks me what I want to eat for dinner every night, packs my lunch for me every day, and supports me in my goals. She is a good, Christian woman who goes with me to church every time the door is open. She always asks my opinion on things like her hair, her nails, and her clothes. She works outside of the home while raising the kids, and still tries to clean up before I get home from work. I know that I truly hit the jackpot.

I dunno man. Some people hate having to exercise consistently and not being able to eat what they want when they want. It makes them (more) miserable. (Conditional) love is nice and all but it doesn't help that much when you're constantly unhappy.

Exactly.

So if different things make her and I happy we need to identify this now and figure out if we actually can be happy together.
