I always get irritation when I pick nails. Usually it clears up after a day or two.

Had this one for a week, it ballooned up the upper third of my index finger, noticed the skin was turning black, purple, and white.

At wife's urging, went to the clinic and the doctor told me it was cellulitis, then chided me for gnawing and picking at my nails.

On antibiotics and said if it got worse I'd have to go to ER and get put on an IV or potentially lose the use of that finger or something I don't know I'm tired.

I started clipping them every Sunday night before bed a while back. I would always start picking on them if they got to a certain point and then I'd get hangnails and ingrown nails because I ripped them out hard.
