Don't get me lying but I'm pretty sure Jade, Kyle Rayner's girlfriend and Alan Scott's daughter was a Green Lantern. She was human and a hottie.

He was hit by some major retcons and is really different from other green lanterns.

Or rather, the lanterns themselves were retconned and Alan Scott didn't play nice with the new Lantern lore so they changed shit around to make a bunch of exceptions for just him.

I'll have to take your word for it. :-) I read the whole Rayner run of GL as it was coming out but haven't read it again yet. I vaguely remember both now that you mention it. I think she got the ring when Kyle became Ion?

The comic is fantastic and Cruz is easily my favorite Green Lantern. The Green Lanterns book in general is awesome and I like it much better than Green Lantern Corps. I love the inner monologues we get from the characters.

I don't know if it's true or not, actually. I asked about it the last time I was in my comic store (not mine, but the one I often go to) and the person I asked said something along those lines. And it did make sense. I mean, Earth has, by far, the highest number of superheroes/metahumans, so SOMETHING must be going on, right?

DC has always been the one to make humans stand out. I dunno if it's subconscious superiority but, even that aside, look at something like Invasion!, where we manage out outwit and overcome an entire army/armada of like 6 or 7 (it's been a while since I read it and the DC TV shows crossover of the story only had the Dominators) species of aliens banded together for the sole purpose of humanity's extermination because they had the potential to pose such a potential threat to the the rest of the universe. So yeah, humans are stupid important in DC.

I think it's a case of that a majority of the writers are from earth so you get stories focused on that, similar to how a lot of comic book stories take place in usa because most of the writers are from america.

I believe the power makes them green. At least in the DCAU; John's eyes turn brown in the few episodes where he loses his ring for some reason.
