An increasingly agitated Morgan responded, “Do you know what we call these people?” referring to therapists who offer conversion counseling. “We call them horrible little bigots in the modern world."

"Just bigoted people who talk complete clap-trap and are, in my view, are a malevolent and dangerous part of our society. What’s the matter with you?”

Morgan challenged his guest’s belief that people are not born gay. Davidson responded, “Where’s your evidence?”

“ My evidence? Where’s my evidence that you were born straight?” Morgan bit back. “Prove to me that you’re straight.”

The heated segment concluded with Morgan telling Davidson to “shut up” and branding him a “bigot.”

To be fair, the argument that "you're born gay, therefore it's okay" has always been an utterly bankrupt argument. It's amazing that's the one everyone latched onto, despite there being far better reasons to accept homosexuality in society.

Why else would you invite them on your show. Surely we know better than to stage this like CNN and their panels of commenters where the framing makes both sides look equal and grants both participants legitimacy in the appearance of "bias towards the middle." Not every story has two sides. And now that pundits like Kellyanne or Lord are in the soup, these people are dispensing with the illusion of sanity entirely to just throw talking points at their bases and mire the discussion in deflection, false equivalence, and straight up untruths.

The only journalistically responsible thing to do is not put them on your air at all. The next best thing you can do is shut them down, because people are leaving these crazy CNN battle royales less educated, not more.

Because unless you're bisexual, it isn't a choice. It is self-destructive. In general, we don't encourage self-destructive things. Just like how we don't ship anorexic girls off to weight loss camps because they want to go. :u
