A Record number of International students are SKIPPING the united states and flooding Canada as they are avoiding Trump like the plague.

Some of Canada's biggest univeersities are beginning the year with a record number of foreign applicants and the challenge now is for the Canadian government to maintain that trend from competing countries and encourage the more talented pool to stay as permanent residents.

The University of Toronto was the top draw with 17,452 international students, making up 20% of the student body. That compares to just 7380 international students a decade ago.

The University of British Columbia was the second highest as students are filling up classrooms.

The spike was no doubt because of Trump's election win and scaring away foreigners from going to the states to study and work as the polictical climate has scared these students away.

There's even a record number of K-12 Students from international countries coming to Canada as many families are opening up their doors for these kids to come to the country to learn english and learn about north american culture. Foreign families pay almost 17,000 in tuition money to send their kids off to Canada which has been a boom for the economy..

The students come from more than 150 countries as Pam Ratner said it's been a "truly extraordinary" statistic and hasn't seen anything like this before

eh its definitely not that much. My university has thousands of international students, some of my classes are over a third international students. The majority are Chinese, but there are a good amount of ones from Saudi Arabia, Oman, Brazil, South Korea and some other countries.
