I would think about what would happen if they somehow got outside somehow and the thought of it upsets me.

Adopted my 5th ferret last Thursday actually. (4th died two weeks ago)
Nothing bad ever happened to them but I've learned to look down when opening doors they can be very sneaky.

They love trying to squeeze into tight, small places. There's this space between the end of the cage and their food tray that one always tries to get into but ends up getting his head caught in. So I would have to get him out. It happens pretty often and I wonder if he does it when I'm not around. It always makes me worried.

Oh? I've never had any of mine getting actually stuck somewhere. Aside from when I haven't clipped their nails in a while and one gets stuck in their bedding.
