In the original trilogy, they weren't Nazis but were just sort of a general representation of the Axis powers. You had guys in gray uniform, yes, but you also had a samurai in Darth Vader and Star Destroyers which were patterned after Japanese naval fleets. And the AT-ATs were based off of Hannibal and his elephant brigade and they had nothing to do with World War II.
All that making the bad guys white supremacists accomplishes is allowing some nerds to vent on the people that they dislike at the expense of making fans feel guilty about liking the Empire because they're collectively a lot cooler than the good guys. ... Copied to Clipboard!
