I always think there are tons of fat people in Seattle until I go somewhere else and then start thinking I live with a bunch of super models. Last year I spent a few weeks in Charleston, SC and Louisville, KY and it was just so depressing.

Given the patient population in the hospital I work at, I believe it.

The BMIs I'm seeing are insane - the average is easily in the 30s and the highest I've seen was a 61. Granted it's not everybody, but it's a highly disturbing trend. Some have used the word epidemic, and I would too.

There are some customers so goddamn fat that come into my store that I consider telling them to go home that they really don't need to eat here.

I am talking so fat they use a fucking walker and can't fit in the booths.
