If you don't like S4 that much then there's probably not much that can save it for you. S6E9-onward ups the pacing and the spectacle, but outside of that I don't know if GoT has what you're looking for.

I heard Jaime is a lot more honorable in the books, so I don't really doubt that Stannis is better.
