Yes, but under incredibly narrow circumstances. She'd need to be mature and we'd both need to be at about the same stage in our lives. I don't see those as being likely, honestly. I'm way beyond my 'go out and party every weekend and live it up' phase and I think most 18-20 year old's are still in the prime of that.

I'm 28. In the past year I've dated a 22 year old and a 24 year old and even then there was a massive difference between us. The thing that really got me is that they were both constantly on their phone, whereas dating people my own age or older that just doesn't happen as much.

I'm 28 so no. Also dating a girl who is 19 or 20 it isn't so much about age it's more about her life experiences. Being 19 she just graduated college, can't even legally drink yet, and has barely done anything with her life. By the time you get to 22 you are usually a different person then the one you are at 22.

While girls tend to mature faster than boys so you can shave a little off the age gap, I'm pretty sure most of those relationships -- like relationships in general -- aren't intended to last forever. In general, things depend more on personality than age anyway. Some people never grow out of drinking and clubbing while others never get into it, for instance.

Over here they could be working at 16. The only drawback I'd see if that they are not of legal drinking age but that's not necessarily a problem. Maturity doesn't equal age too. Granted a 30 year old dating a 16 year old probably wouldn't work out for whatever reason but that's not to say it's impossible.

On the other side of the coin if you just want someone to fuck then none of the above matters as it's purely about the sex.

Yeah, and guys can sign on to kill and be killed in foreign foreign countries before they can drink. Being old enough to work is really of no significance here.

And yes, maturity doesn't inherently align with age, but I find that usually manifests in the immaturity of people who should no better, not the other way around. We've all heard or even know about 16-18 year olds who are extremely mature for their age, but 9 times out of 10, that's not the person you're dating.

Why would they share a common interest? I don't necessarily share a common interest with every other employed person in the world beyond making enough money to live. That's not so much a common interest as it is a topic of conversation. Maybe it reveals a common interest, but I find that less likely among high schoolers who work at the grocery store or the amusement park.
