The Weeknd is one of my favorite artists of all time and, call me crazy, but I think Starboy is my favorite of his albums. Enjoy every single song on there, 10/10 album for me

I agree hard that Starboy is underrated; some of his best singing is on there

However, I also think there isn't any 10/10 tracks like on his other albums, mostly because the entire album is consistently good.

Then again, HoB is full of 10/10 tracks so go figure

Nah, I just don't listen to music. Like...ever. Talk radio in the car (NPR or local sports), there's only one station that plays all the time at work and it's all older stuff (90's mostly), most of my social life is bowling (I'm in 4 leagues a week this year, they don't play music during league), and when I'm just chilling at home I'm either watching TV or playing games.

I genuinely don't listen to music and probably couldn't even name more than 1 or 2 bands/singers on the top 40 charts currently.

Kinda short sighted to call someone a hermit when there are lots of normal people who simply aren't that much into music "bruh."

Also, having now listened to a few of the songs in the poll, I can safely state that they're pretty much just more of the same garbage that passes for "music" these days (from what I've heard on the few occasions where I am somewhere that's playing new stuff) and I haven't missed much of anything by not paying attention to them up to now.

Sorry, bruh. The Weeknd is beyond obscurity. Trilogy is one of the most important R&B projects ever, and you certainly aren't in a position to argue against that.

So the opinion of someone who has listened to an artist's music extensively and is therefore familiar with said artist and the genre, means exactly the same as someone who has openly admitted to not listening to much music, if any, and thinks that the few songs he did listen to are completely trash?

In fact, if anything my opinion would be more valuable. You've already gained a bias from having listened to and enjoyed his past work. You'd be more likely to forgive or simply outright ignore mistakes or poor decisions because you've already built up the idea that "he's good, and he knows what he's doing, so this must be good and I must just be interpreting it wrong."

I come in with a blank slate, no preconceptions, and an open ear for what is actually there. And I find it very boring. An artist's job is to create a reaction in anybody who experiences their art, be it painting, photography, music, or any other form. Past experience is not a requirement for a good artist to create those reactions. This music did not create those reactions. Frankly, it bored me.

Just because I choose not to listen to music very often does not mean I am incapable of analyzing it or have no knowledge of how the medium works. I don't know why you assume it does.
