IE: Lets say that there is someone who has done some good stuff for you, but you always think of the worst things that they've done, blow it out of proportion and find some way to justify why the "good things" they did weren't that great in the first place.

basically what is it called when you focus on the negatives, and try to downplay the positives of someone?
