This is a non-issue. I think the pardoning of Arpaio is wrong, and a completely dumb political move. But Trump asking Sessions if he could drop the case, and Sessions says, "No, we can't.", and then Trump basically saying, "OK, I'll just pardon him later then.", isn't something to get worked up over. The pardoning of a scumbag is something to get worked up over, not discussing his legal outlets leading up to it.

It's completely inappropriate for a sitting politician of any kind to attempt to pull political favours for a perceived ally, especially when its attempting to circumvent the justice system.
