Through the Verizon carrier of being half off with trade in of my Galaxy S7 Edge plus another $150 off from Best Buy. From Best Buy, it's $39 a month x 24 months = $936 retail value. Then $150 divided by 24 months is $6.25 a month deduction for Best Buy's deal brings it down to 32.75 a month. With the trade in, it knocks it down to $12.75 a month, which going by the 24 months will amount to only $306.

It'll be my first Note smartphone and I didn't have to touch anywhere near $1000 for the total valuation of this phone. Woot!

Only thing I'm a little confused is how I don't get totally it all off once I get the phone because Verizon is going to apply the $468 as monthly credit...bleh

No, it's already paid off. I actually got mine through a Buy One Get One offer last year that Samsung was promoting. Afterwards, we all paid off the phone so there would be no worries of fees to pay other than the phone plan itself.

Because with a bigger screen, it means there are much more to do on your device. It's an upgrade for me in being able to do business on it. And the size of the phone itself isn't that much bigger than the iPhone 7 Plus or the Galaxy S8+. I held the Note 8 in hand yesterday and it felt quite solid and smooth to hold.

Should have waited a month or two and you would have gotten it slightly above that with no trade in and most specfically, not involving bill credits but an instant discount.

Becareful because even a minor change in the plan causes those credits to drop permanently, including trying to pay it off early and essentially means you signed a 2 year contract, at which point, it's around $350 for that anyway with the positive being that tax is charged on $350 instead, not $950 (outside CA).

The S7 Edge I'm going to get rid of will have a third party replaced screen in which it won't be water resistant anymore. That is one slight thing that bothers me is the pretty much 2 year contract.
