I think we've been underestimating the guy. From an outside perspective, he's going senile/is batshit crazy. His policies and cabinet choices run so opposite from would actually be beneficial to the country that its approaching insanity. He can't get anything done despite his own party holding a majority in congress, and his own party voted to neuter his ability to interact with a foreign power.

... However, what if this is all a front? What if Trump has been acting this bizarre on purpose because he knows somewhere down the road its gonna save his ass. Hear me out.

Almost from day one, his administration has been bogged down by the Russia conspiracy problems. As more and more ties are found linking his election campaign, administration, and even family to Russia and corruption he's become more and more erratic. Rather than thinking that a multi-billionaire is so out of touch with the world that he basically thinks and acts like he's a dictator, doesn't it make more sense that he's setting himself up for the world's best insanity defense if the shit hits the fan over the Russia problem? If it never does, he can do whatever he wants til he's out of office. If he IS impeached, he's setting it up so that it's super easy for a lawyer to say "My client did nothing wrong out of malice, he's senile and deserves our sympathy for trying to do the hardest job in the world at his age."

Its brilliant. I'm actually impressed. At least, I'd rather believe that than the idea that the guy with his hands on all the nuclear codes is actually a moron/psychopath
