So basically I'm beyond help.

So let's say your job is making hamburgers. You're taught how to do it and you've done it enough that it becomes easy to you right? Well the next step up is to make the process even easier and make it streamlined. Instead of doing it the way you know how to do it, think outside the box and try to find a way to make it easier. The term work smarter, not harder comes to play. You just gotta open your mind a little. Brainstorming and critical thinking.

My inability to write fiction.

I either get discouraged, second guess myself, and give up, or my body just seems to freeze up when I try to write something even if I KNOW what it is. No matter how many times I force myself to write, it NEVER gets any easier, and I've not improved in all the time I've been writing.

What specifically are you nervous about when it comes to just writing say, short stories? You have to get to the root of your anxiety and figure out what's stopping you from just going for it. Remember: you don't need to write a philosophical masterpiece your first time out. Just write something quick and fun. Think of an emotion or idea you want to express, and from there, figure out who your characters are, what they'll be like, and how they'll react to situations you put them. Also, I recommend reading as much as you can as you write. There are patterns to how books are structured and you'll start to pick up on it.

Also recommend Stephen Kings "On Writing" book. It has a lot of helpful advice about writing habits and structure as well.

read more fiction. and non-fiction too. think about why you like the things you do.

you need to force yourself to write. hell, there are roleplaying communities everywhere online if you need to start smaller. there's even one on gamefaqs that I've been fairly involved in.

Structure. Patience as well. I can tell you're quick to get frustrated, which is definitely not conducive to writing. You're tense. I think you're expecting this magic day to come when you pick up a pen or sir down at the computer and you write something amazing. In essence, the monkies left alone will produce Shakespeare or whatever. Only that's not how it works. No one is saying there's some secret self improvement techniques. It's just recognizing what exactly makes you unhappy when you read what you write. What about it do you not like compared to A. What you want it to be and B. Other things you've read.

But my body just won't.

And everyone keeps saying that you need to write more and more and it'll get easier and I've been writing for years and it DOESN'T, but no one will tell me WHY or HOW. Hell, even in THIS FUCKING TOPIC, people have just given me the "keep writing, it'll get easier" and ignoring the fact that it HASN'T.
