I don't know about the Engineers, but David was right about humans---we aren't as special or as important as we we think we are. Even though he knew David was dangerous the captain was still arrogant enough to assume he wouldn't lie to him. That movie was just full of WTF are you doing moments. I liked it overall but there were too many of those moments --- The night brims with defiled scum,and is permeated by their rotten stench.
