The problem with Lance was he went out of his way to silence the whistle blowers. He threatened them, smeared them, sued people.
Not that I'm making a case that cheating is ok. But I think people can forgive, or frankly not even care that much if you just own up to it when caught. Trying to ruin other peoples lives for your own mistakes is where it truly crosses a line tho imo The flipside of it with JJ is his job is literally to beat the crap out of another person.
