You need to tell your mother to stop enabling your brother or you will no longer support her. Brother perhaps has codependency. Mother, no. She is damn strong and it was jarring to see her break down for the first time. --- ---- ----- ... Copied to Clipboard!

Left my last job with little notice like an idiot, and I only have enough money left for one more month of rent with $100 leftover. sooo now I'm trying to quit smoking WHILE finding a job that will hopefully not need references lol (tbf I havent been asked for references for like 4/5 of my last jobs so there's hope).
It's no going to be fun though. --- Vandelay Industries Importing & Exporting ... Copied to Clipboard!

I've dealt with codepency in the past as well. I highly recommend seeing someone about it. It's one thing to try and help family in need. It's another to be a sucker about it. I've told my mother to stop sending him money and I have asked him to come home. Neither is happening. I definitely don't want to spend my money helping them because i have plans of my own. I wanted a house and to finish school and pretty much move on from all this crap. But my mother's mental state seems so off. She already feels betrayed by family (my father leaving, her father berating her, never getting along with her sisters). If I leave, I dont know what will happen. --- ---- ----- ... I've never had financial trouble, but I'm only 25. When I finished college I already had a good job lined up, but I also had $6000 of student loan debt. I paid it off very quickly and that was probably the worst I've ever been, financially.
