It does. The first fight scene was by far the worst of the season. For me it did improve. As a show in general it's a passable 5/10. If you are a pretty big Marvel fan, it can be closer to the 6-7 range. Give it two more episodes before judging it entirely and writing it off. If you still don't like it, you won't in the long run.

There are some people who will claim it gets better towards the end, but trust me, it doesn't.

I'd suggest having a few drinks and watching the next episode, it's a great unintentional comedy, especially if you're drunk.

Do I need to watch Iron Fist and Luke Cage to really get into Defenders? I've heard nothing but bad stuff about the former and I watched the first episode of the latter and nearly fell asleep halfway through.

The second to last episode is good, particularly the conflict between Danny and Davos. The stuff is great. If the whole show had been that, we'd be good. But the final episode goes right back to shit.

I don't watch any of those shows, but my mother watched all of them. She had not a single positive thing to say about Iron First. According to her it did not get better.

Iron Fist sort of, Luke Cage not at all.

Honestly, the only one where you may miss out on major plot details if you didn't watch it is both seasons of Daredevil. Jessica Jones' plot isn't relevant at all to Defenders.

He's a douchey businessman, but he's not generic. He reminds me of the CEO of Max Rager from Izombie. The show has 3 villains in it so technically you could argue that there is no main villain.
