Personally I think it is a scheme! Not exactly but...

It's like animating the backstory that you already know. Some games go very into detail, or have books. But still we need a prequel? To me it is very cheap!

I think In most cases stories should be moving forward and making sequels (even if not about the same character, it should be the future) we don't need to see the past we need to see how we hanged the world or whatever we may do.

Why are sequels inherently better? If you're taking something that's a complete story, adding to the end of it also seems "lazy".

Most of us prefer to see the aftermath. I don't like prequels because you already know what happens in the end ultimately (spoilers: crisis core)

I hold no particular feelings toward prequels. Just make it worthwhile.

They're usually pretty good, unless they retcon the original story too much.

i don't mind them, but also am not a huge fan of them because it feels like the story isn't really moving forward, even if it provides new information. i'd almost always prefer a sequel.

I'm okay with it except when they fuck up the timeline for what it's prequeling

But in some cases I'd prefer one. For example, if a new Legend of Dragoon ever got made, I'd much rather it be a prequel about the Dragoon campaign than a sequel

That's a good way to see it, or similar to me at least
