Did you see the eclipse?

I saw it. We were not in totality.

It was worth it regardless.

We kept our dogs inside, but they still got freaked out.

The birds singing was also neat.

I was at about 90% totality.

Wasn't as dim as I was expecting it to get, but it was still pretty interesting.

Got really cold, too.

between yes and no. it was mostly cloudy but could still see it somewhat. at the height of it was when a giant storm cloud passed over so that was my sign to go back in. i didn't have the expensive glasses so i just tried using my phone in selfy mode. didn't show up much but enough i guess.

Yep. Traveled about an hour and a half to see totality. It was cloudy, and we only got a couple glimpses as it was starting, but the clouds broke at the exact moment of totality and it was gorgeous. Ring of fire and all that. It turned purple towards the end - I don't know if that's normal or was a result of the light cloud cover we still had, but it was beautiful. Totally worth taking the day off.

Unfortunately I was only in 99.4% totality so surprisingly that 0.6% made a huge difference. I was never able to look directly at it without the special glasses. That really tiny, tiny sliver of sunlight (again, just 0.6%) was still like looking directly into a spotlight.

It still got incredibly dark, though. And it wasn't anything like twilight or night. It was like regular daylight except very dim, or exactly like if you were looking through some really strong sunglasses, or like you're turning down the backlight on your phone all the way when looking at a picture.

It also got about 10 degrees cooler during the darkest part.

Yeah I know what you mean, I was in the totality, but the moment the tiniest sliver of the sun came back out from the totality it was completely blinding again.
