70 y/o Lou Tomososki from Oregon is warning millions of people taking part in the once in a lifetime total solar eclipse tomorrow as he became PARTIALLY BLIND 50 years ago after he made a grave mistake..

He remembers walking home from school with a friend in 1962 as weeks leading up to the event people anticipated the partial solar eclipse and he was eager to see it..

He says "The sun at the time at 3:30pm was in the one o'clock position. I was to Roger, if you stare at it long enough the brightness goes away. We both got burned at the same time..he got the left eye, i got the right eye" as each looked at the sun the moment the moon started to move in front and flashing lights started going into their eyes..

He was warned to use a pinhole projector box that createsa reflection for safe viewing but he did not listen..

Lou says "We were just doing it for a short time. I have a little blind spot in the centre of my right eye. You know how the news people blur license plate out. That's what i have on the right eye, about the size of a pea. I can't see around that"

Portions of his retina were burned by the sun..his assumption that looking at the sun was safer if the sun was partially blocked by he moon was incorrect and now his happy to warn people to this day not to do what he did and said "it's not worth it"

It's going to be over real quick and not worth taking the chance

It is going to be the most observed solar eclipse in history as the school district in Ohio has CANCELLED SCHOOL over concerns students will damage their eyes while looking at it..

You guys realize that the eclipse is not what is going to make you blind. It is looking at the sun that will. The sun will do that any time, just no one stupid enough to look at it directly for a long time without an eclipse happening.

It's most likely looking at the end of the eclipse. During the eclipse your eyes will dilate, then when the sun comes back out it'll fry everything.
