Stands are inconsistent in Stardust Crusaders. In Diamond is Unbreakable Araki gets really creative and fights are more outsmarting each other than taking turns revealing stand abilities that may never be relevant again.

I don't get whythey used Hamon (sp?) for 2 parts as the mega technique but then decide to replace it with Stands for some reason. Why not just wait a little longer to introduce them or have both be used?

The Ripple was already being used wildly inconsistently by Part 2, and even then the applications weren't nearly as crazy as Stands are in general.
