it had stretched a bit and went flat, so I tuned it back to E. it lived a short and violent life

TC, think you could help me with my string problem? Last time I replaced mine on my electric, I realized the bridge was being pulled too much along with them, as though I were pressing on my vibrato arm, but I don't even have that installed. Like, somehow there's more tension on it than there should be when tuning to the standard tuning, any idea what'd cause that? I can provide a pic if needed.

The main reason I like floyd roses is because if you don't cut your excess string you can just let some slack out in the string and continue using it if it breaks

If you remove the back you can wedge a small block of wood in there to limit the flex.
