That was just a list of foods that don't have added sugar, which I'm sure TC understands. He's probably looking for a way to manage what he's eating. I could be wrong.

If he is trying to cut back on sugar, he should focus on foods that don't have added sugar. That is a list of options with which he can create a variety of meals to suit his needs and fulfill his goal of limiting sugar. If he wants to half ass and try to find a pizza with no sugar added, he is setting himself up for failure, and telling him that his dietary short-comings are his fault isn't being a smart ass

The first post was a complaint about egg sausage n cheese croissant, which can safely assumed to be fast food; and BBQ meatballs, the sugar content of which could only be known if it's in a box or served in a styrofoam bowl somewhere.

Processed food is just bad. It's made to last essentially forever, while not tasting like it's been stuck in a freezer or left on a shelf for essentially forever. Fast food isn't very different.

Did you consider just buying croissants, a log of sausage, a stack of cheese, and half a dozen eggs?

Then again, the only part of that which isn't going to have added sugar or salt is the eggs.
Bread needs sugar to even exist, while cheese needs salt to exist.

Honestly, this is one the hardest parts about eating healthy, I think. Added sugar is everywhere. Even naturally-occurring sugar is absurd.

I use MyPlate (app) to keep up with what I eat each day and it helps me regulate how much sugar I'm eating.

I saw a documentary that said 90% of food in US has added sugar

Sugar is like crack for normal people. :( So easy to crave the stuff. It tastes so good and is so easily attainable.

Stevia is a great substitute that is relatively natural, but it is so hard to find stuff in the stores that is made with it. You either have to order online or making stuff yourself.

You and me, both. I break out when I eat it, and Stevia has the same effects for me.

I eat regular Cheerios (< 1g of sugar), soup... There are certain kinds of bread/bagels that are low in sugar content. Oatmeal is packed with it and so is granola. Beef jerkey is loaded with sugar. Some kinds of peanuts/cashews are fine. I've been eating lots of rice. Avoid sports drinks, as they are also loaded with sugar. I only drink water and black tea.

If it was frozen I'd be surprised if it didn't have a ton of salt. You probably have to cook for yourself if you want something healthy and cheap.

There's a tiny bit in the dough to make the yeast rise, but most of it is probably in the sauce. Sugar is the cheapest/easiest way to cut the tinny/acidic taste of canned tomato.

It sounds like white bread is your culprit.

If you switch to only 100% whole grains, while those still have sugar in them, they have a lot more fiber which means your body can process the sugars much more smoothly. In other words, the sugar won't spike your blood sugar nearly as hard.

is this true

Sugar is a damn hard thing to quit and even just cutting back is tough. Last summer I quit drinking soda with sugar in it and I lost 30 pounds. It's hard, but if you really stay focused you can change your habits, TC. Good luck. Maybe you can substitute a specific food you usually eat with a sugar-free version? Then try doing the same with another and another, gradually reducing your sugar in-take. I'd also advise an app to keep track of what you're eating like @Asherlee10 suggested. I'm using myfitnesspal recommended by my brother. Working great for me.

5 grams of sugar doesn't even seem that bad to me for a breakfast sandwich. It's not a healthy sandwich regardless of the sugar, but if that's breakfast and the recommended daily sugar intake is 37 then that's manageable.

Four grams of sugar is one teaspoon. Also, that's saying that drinking a can of Coke every day is "acceptable."
