Look at all those awful callbacks to Kanto, it's so painfully obvious this was meant to pander to the cancerous Pokemon Go fanbase at the expense of former long time fans like myself who have given their support for almost 20 years to be told to go fuck myself because Nintendo and GameFreak are more interested in pandering to a demographic who hasn't given a shit about them for almost 20 years

The fact the Sun and Moon even after all the things that were done to spite longtime fans in favor of Pokemon Go players were so successful was the official death knell for the IP while the inevitable success of US/UM will be it's burial. It's really sad to see Nintendo ruin their last good IP and people just defend it because nostalgia

There's not really much to be excited for. There's hardly any information about this game. The event lyranroc has a move useful ability(tough claws), but it's learnset is still really poor and i don't think you'll be able to breed egg moves on to it.

Really? I recently just played Soul Silver after not having played Gen 2 since the gameboy and it was my favorite gen. I have to say a majority of Gen 2 Pokemon are lame and the game runs off Gen 1 too much with how often you run into Gen 1 Pokemon.

I doubt much.

I guess you could say I'm not a long term fan, I wouldn't fight you about that. I've bought and played every gen though so idk. I'm a fan of the mechanics and gameplay, the only thing I'm a former fan of is the pokemons actual design in a lot of cases.

If that's directed at me, I still like Pokemon. I liked X and Y, I'm playing Platinum for the first time and I'm loving it. I still like Gen 2 but replaying it since it came out has made me realize it isn't as good as I thought, including design wise.

I transferred a bunch over from ORAS where I've done most of my breeding but I've done my share of breeding in SuMo...


God ORAS mechanics for getting Pokemon into competitive shape was so much better. The bottlecaps for Legendaries was a welcome addition, though.

Gen 2 Stallfests we're probably the worst. Blissy can kiss my ass omg.

The Gen 6 "hyper offense" thing was kind of lulzy though. Priority abuse and you basically went for OHKOs.

Definitely disagree (it is a taste thing after all), loved Girafarig's design and I think Stantler is cool. I loved all of the stages for Cyndaquil and Totodile as well as the first two stages for Chikorita.

Donphan's awesome, as is Sneasel (one of my favorites)... Tyranitar stages. Legendary Beasts and Birds (Lugia and Suicine are two of my favorite designs). Houndour/doom... Noctowl...


Like, I can't think of designs I hate.

I actually like Gen 5 Pokemon a lot.

Serperior, Excadrill, Krookadile, Darmanitan, Conkeldurr, Stoutland, Archeops, Braviary, Ferrothorn, Chaneldure, Volcarona, etc.

I understand there are a few particularly bad ones that Garbador, Druddigon, and Hydreigon, but overall there are a lot of solid Pokemon designs I really like.

Kanto pandering *IS* pandering to the long term fans. I've been a fan of Pokemon since it was new, ever since I bought Pokemon Red and saw the original anime. Been playing it since, but I always enjoy the callbacks.
