That sucks, what was the diagnoses?
People usually think of thyroid issues as just contributing to weight gain/loss, but it really messes up your entire endocrine system. Here's a fun little fact for thyroid diseases when it comes to cats and dogs:
-Hyperthyroidism is usually a cat thing. -Hypothyroidism is usually a dog thing. Sorry to hear you're actually experiencing something. A lot of people get hypothyroidism. The biggest clinical sign would be weight so that's why a lot of people look at the weight. Other factors of the endocrine system have a lot of other contributors so it's hard for doctor's minds to go straight to your thyroid gland if your hormones and/or mental state seem imbalanced. --- People are afraid of what they don't understand. ... My doctor said I might have something with my thryoid because my hands had some tremors and I complained my eyes always appear red and my hair has been getting thinner recently. I was so terrified to have hyperthryoidism I never went for the blood test. I would be too depressed having to get my thyroid removed and taking a pill everyday. I'm not overweight though so that's one less worry for heart disease.
