I mean...it's kind of a giant block of nothing. It discusses a lot about minstrial aspect but then says not everything is bad without talking about what would be ok.

I would say that it's actually helping normalize black people in the eyes of white Americans assuming the gif isn't of something repulsive/violence because it seems themselves as the person in the gif....which is something I'd think people would want

If anything, I think the popularity of reaction gifs featuring black people is a compliment. I've often heard that black people are much better and more open about showing emotions, so that powerful emotion is complimented and celebrated with the great reaction gifs people create starring them.

Nuance is a dead concept in political and cultural discourse. If you have to think about something and can't instantly react to it, then it's bad.

Other than the .gif of the black kid in the yellow shirt saying "that's racist", I've never even paid attention to the race of the person in a reaction .gif. For me it's always been about the expression or the walk off or whatever.
