real small, maybe a couple weeks old? was having trouble keeping its eyes open and stuff, just mewling away. human society said to call them back tomorrow and to just leave it outside and ignore it, since the louder it cries the more likely it's mother is to come back and find it, but they'd come pick it up and bring it to a shelter if it was still there

didn't even know there were any cats in the neighborhood to be honest

The so called animal lovers said that? Assholes. Bring it in, wrap it in something warm and go get some kitten milk for it at the store. It's work but don't just leave the poor thing outside.

cats abandon their kittens all the time, so there's a good chance it'll die if you leave it alone

leave out a bit of water for it and maybe a tiny bit of food and if its still there tomorrow i guess its abandoned

its more likely to have a dog hear it and eat it than it is for its mother to come back

bring it inside

but it's kinda risky because if it really is only a couple weeks old it shouldn't be away from its mother yet. it's usually 10 weeks
