As kids we did alot of stuff, but I'll describe some in each post..

I'll start with my favorite.

Jason

We called it Jason, based of Jason Vorhees from Friday the 13th.
Needed at least 10 players. We were at most like 20+
One person is chosen to be Jason, he/she will count to 100 while everyone else runs away.

Goal: Jason needs to "kill and turn" everyone to their side. Last man standing decide who the next Jason is.

Rules: Jason can ONLY walk fast if seen by someone. (can run when no one sees). Jason can't talk.
When Jason captures someone (just touch), they kill them and make them his zombie. They work like Jason, walk fast, no talking.
People can hide everywhere that isn't a place everyone can have access to. And I mean everywhere, there is no limit to how far you go pretty much.

It was a very exciting game. Since if you saw one of your mates, you could not be sure if they have been turned or not, had to make sure. Jason and zombies had to like keep watch at places and ambush people.

Games ran very long, could take a week (like we aborted and continued).

A memory I have, I was in the woods in winter, it was dark, I was hiding in the snow for hours alone.

It was so damn fun.

Dark Tag

We had cellars in our appartment buildings. They were long etc.

What we did was play tag there. But no lights on so it was pitch black.

The tagger had to be outside and look straight at the lamp and count. Then go in the cellar and chase people and tag them.

There were pipes and stuff on the ceiling you could climb on and hide and stuff.

Sometimes we had extra rules like EVERYONE had to run as fast as they could there, so we bumped alot on the walls and on each-other.

I played tag a lot in elementary school during recess, and man hunt in my neighborhood.

I also played what was essentially Pokemon Go in real life but I think with toys maybe? Each friend would pick a type and we would put the toys around the house and yard and go and capture and then battle them.

Kick the Can. It's based like tag, but when you tag someone, they go to "jail", and can be freed by someone coming up to kick an upright can set up as a designated marker, which frees the captured people.

Skimmed through some of that but I think that's what we called man hunt. Shit was nuts playing at dark.

Red Rover was always a favorite. Always tried my damnedest to break through those people's arms.

Ghosts in the Graveyard

interesting, I played a game called this as well but it was totally different

basically, you wait until late at night when it's dark and hard to see. Pick a spot/object for home base, preferably put some sort of light there, everyone waits there with their eyes closed for a bit while the 1 ghost goes and hides somewhere. Then the people move out and look for the ghost, usually spread out looking in different places.

When someone finds him they shout "ghost in the graveyard" and try to run back to the home base, the ghost tries to catch up and touch as many people as he can before they make it back. Anyone who gets caught also becomes a ghost and hides in the next round. The ghost can also try to touch people before anyone notices where he is but that's generally pretty tough.

It wasn't an official rule but generally as a ghost you don't hide inside super complicated hiding spots or anything, you just use the fact that it's really dark and do simple things like hiding behind trees or whatever

Burken or The Can if translated.

It's a hide and seek/tag combo.

One person was the seeker.

There was a designated object that was the center of the game.

Rules: The seeker had to find everyone, and if he caught everyone he could choose who the next seeker was. When the seeker sees someone he has to run to the object (the can) and call out "Burken för xxx 1 2 3) (The can to xxx (name) 1 2 3), and that person will be caught.

The hiders had to get to the object (the can) and get themselves out of the game by touching the object and calling "Burken för mig 1 2 3 (the can for me 1 2 3) and they are out of the game.

If there was one hider remaning, he could free everyone so the seeker had to start over by yelling "Burken för alla 1 2 3, ( the can for all of us 1 2 3).

The seeker was not allowed to camp "the can" either.
